Facebook Summer Camp: steps to a new Facebook look

With all the privacy warts and bruises, Facebook is still the place to be and share information.

Social Media Breakfast Toledo will hold Facebook summer camp on Wednesday, July 7 at
Thread Marketing Group in Maumee. Campers won’t be required to line up and give us 50,
rather we’ll share steps to a new Facebook look.

Sure, you can build a fan page in 10 minutes, but are you pulling out all the stops to actively
engage with your fans? Unique content, active conversations, videos and images and a friendly,
helpful tone are essential for this platform. See what others have done to improve this experience
and get noticed. We'll present our top 10 list of easy and actionable ideas that you can take home
and add to your brand's fan page.

  • Intro and How to build a Facebook business page
  • Facebook Profile vs. Facebook Pages
  • Facebook Engagement
  • Facebook Insight
  • Facebook Community Pages
  • Facebook Privacy concerns
  • Facebook Ads
  • Facebook Contests
  • Conclusion - What do you do now/policy/administrator

Isn’t Facebook overdone? We are actually seeing people flee web portals for the familiar faces in
their own Facebook groups.

* According to Compete.com, average time spent on portal websites is down 21.7
percent
over the last year. Users are spending on average 6:30 before heading
somewhere else.

* Users spent an average of 4:56 on AOL in May, down from 7:38 in 2009. Yahoo users
averaged 7:21
in May versus just over 9 minutes in May 2009. MSN – at 4:42 – was down just 9
seconds.

* According to Compete, in May 2009, Facebook users spent an average of 15 minutes on
Facebook.
In May 2010, they spent 22:39 – an increase of nearly 50 percent.
